How to Pay The Argentina Reciprocity Fee Online – A Step by Step Guide

April 1st 2015

Are you going to Argentina?  Are you Canadian, American, or Australian?  If you answered yes to both those questions then it means that to gain entry to the country you need to have proof of payment of your reciprocity fee before you arrive.  Gone are the days of cash arrival, now it’s all done online and is an absolute requirement to gain entry to this amazing country.  This entry gives you a step by step guide on how to register, pay and print your receipt so you won’t have any problems getting into Argentina.

The fee breaks down as follows, all values in USD:

Australia:  100 USD

Canada:  92 USD

United States:  160 USD

Now here’s the step by step.

Step 1: Find the Website

The first step is to go to this page, it’s the same for Americans, Australians and Canadians.  And here’s the link.   The page is in both English and Spanish and is really not that complicated.

Step 2:  Register for an Account

At the bottom left of the page you will see a login box, just below that you will see a sign up button as illustrated in this screenshot.  Click on that button.

Step 5:  Print you Receipt for Proof

You must have this printed and it’s a very good idea to have it with you every time you enter and exit Argentina, it saves in your account though so don’t forget your login details, or take a screenshot and save it somewhere safe.  To access and Print your form go back to the main page here and log in to your account here.

Conclusion:

While it’s annoying to pay to enter a country, we can hardly hold it against Argentina as they only charge us what their citizens have to pay to enter our countries.  I have only been in one small part of Argentina so far but it’s a beautiful country which I look forward to going back to.  It’s also worth noting that the reciprocity fee is valid for the life of your passport, so you can enter and exit more or less as much as you’d like without paying the fee again.  And trust me, even after only 5 days there, Argentina’s worth it.  If you have any further questions about Argentina or travel in general contact me here  I’ll be happy to hear from you.
