Date of Entry: May 23rd to July 5th (Yes a lot of time being covered)
Date of Writing: September 5th 2016, My Apartment, Sao Paulo.
Yes, Everything has changed, and yet it hasn’t too. This is far from the end of this travel blog and in fact it may make it more interesting as my travel style will be changing. Shorter trips, but trips all over the world with a bit of a different feel to them. Here’s a quick rundown of plans for the next 6 months: Various locations in Brazil, Peru, South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe and hopefully Swaziland and Lesotho, maybe even Mozambique. Then comes christmas in Canada and then after new years in Brazil I’ll head to India and one of Pakistan, Sri Lanka, or Bangladesh After that who knows but I’m sure I’ll keep on adventuring. Plus Sao Paulo is full of secrets and eventually I’ll get around to writing about them.
So why has everything changed? Why after almost 3 years of travel do I have a new home? And why am I changing all my plans: In a single sentimental word: Love. There’s no other answer. I somewhat accidentally met and fell for a lovely Brazilian woman named Renata here in Sao Paulo and while my desire to travel will never die, I suddenly have this great desire to have a home here with her. And that’s pretty damn exciting. And really I’m happy in a different way than I’ve been in the last three years of travel and Im excited to build a life here that still involves a ton of travel, and hopefully lots of that travel with her. In short she’s amazing and these past months have been beyond incredible with her and I’m so looking forward to whatever the future holds for us. Right now though I’m most excited about introducing her to those important people in my life based in Canada, where she’ll be joining me for christmas. My first Christmas at home in 4 years. EEEEKKKK SO EXCITED.
At the time of writing I’m back in Sao Paulo again after roughly a month in the north of Brazil exploring this incredible country I’m making my second home. Eventually I’ll probably start teaching English, and hopefully try to do some more travel writing on a freelance basis too. But I don’t want to stop travelling ever. And I’m lucky because Renata loves travel too and has been to 27 countries, in fact she’ll be coming to India with me in the new year. Okay I’m still winning that country count, but not everyone has the luck I’ve had nor the freedom to travel, so really here tally of 27 is more impressive than mine which stands in the 40’s though I’m hoping to get to fifty in 2017. At any rate I’m so glad to be with someone who loves travel.
I don’t want to go into too much detail about her on here, because it’s a travel blog more than anything, But Renata is amazing, so good to me and I’m very much in love. And by some ridiculous stroke of luck, she seems to feel the same about me. One eventual goal of ours is to open a hostel together, though we’ve no idea where, and little idea as to when, though definitely at least a few years off.
And for those wondering yes I do realize the stupidity of falling in love in one of the few countries in South America where I don’t speak the language (though yes my Portuguese is coming along). But what can you do eh? Besides I’m beyond happy to have a home in South America, a continent that has stolen my heart over the past two years.
So yes. The travel blog continues and I have so many adventures from Brazil to share with all my readers, and so many more amazing new frontiers I’ll be exploring in the coming months. If anything the blog just got more interested and before 2017 it will have travel information of 6 of the 7 continents. (Australia I’ll get to you someday soon I hope). Exciting stuff. For me. And hopefully for you the readers. So stay tuned!

WOW !!! Okay, you were my prize student in Gr.2, so maybe you did earn all the blessings (especially Rê!) that are now bestowed upon you. And yes, your blog is always fascinating. Hope to see you again in Kingston in December, until then, “Continue ton beau travail, Luke!” (Reminds you of something?)
